In March 2021, (during a break from agency life) I embarked on a mission to help preserve the endangered cultural heritage of Malësorë shepherds in Kelmend, northern Albania. Initially I was volunteering as a documentary photographer, but my growing dedication to the cause over a year period eventually led me to establish The Shepherd's Way Albania, a social business run with and for these shepherds.
Launched in June 2023, through sustainable, immersive ecotourism, the project offers small-group tours during the summer, giving travellers the opportunity to experience an exclusive glimpse into the lives of the locals shepherds and contribute to the preservation of their precious cultural heritage.
As the founder, I built the business from the ground up: from initial ideation, to designing, building all online channels (website, instagram, facebook, etc.), branding, online/offline marketing, content creation etc.
As well as this, I also manage all on-the-ground tasks including liasing between travellers and local guides, acting as a guide & translator, preparing itineraries, coordinating tour activities & transport, etc.
